Fortnite Is the Future, but Probably Not for the Reasons You Think

Fortnite is a game playable on any deice, it has been ported likely  using a QT or equivalent.  This is why we want to break up X Windows and make configurable arrangements of Snippets. That allows the kernel to migrate to other platforms without the baggage of XWindows.  The linux kernel provides base IO, but the game configuration uses swappable IO managers, rendering APIs as needed, and so forth, making some configuration of the game available anywhere the linux kernel has been ported, including most game machines.

This is how linux takes advantage of Moore's Law, it duplicates the kernel everywhere, and makes is an integration mechanism..
