Use chat relay and the bots on your mailing list will check your unit once in a while and pick up any e mail you have queue up. The only common server you need is the encrypted chat server for bots, real time. That is a switch, doesn't hold much of anything except IP routes.
When I turn on my smart phone it logs into chat and informs any other smartphone bots that I have mail inside this tiny little box, come and get it. Then if that little box of mine gets hacked, it is my problem.
