The mother of a black student-athlete who was shot and killed at a campus party at Wake Forest University has sued the school and others, claiming officials’ decision to reduce police supervision at campus parties after complaints campus cops were racially biased against black student events ultimately led to the murder of her son.
This is the split in the Black community, one side wants fewer cops; the other is opposed.
The problem is the Black elite, what do they have to offer? They can say, we need more police because Blacks have more crime, or they can say more police is racist. The former solution is demeaning to Black culture, the later is essential for them to live in urban environments.
