Grieving Parents' Policy Preferences Are Irrelevant to the Constitutionality of Gun Laws

The Second amendment requires:

'A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, ..'

So if you kid is killed in a Repub mass slaughter at a state school, then grieving parents have a Constitutional guarantee.  Their rights were trampled, the Second guarantees that arms at state schools are governed by a well regulated militia, not a gang of murderous mentally ill, like in Florida.
