Chanting and prayers

In a preliterate society, how is the vernacular standardized? The kids have to learn the poetic stanzas. The dialect is easily lost especially as folks migrate. Legends, ancestor worship and deism all offer the opportunity to centrallize the standard vocal grammar and keep everyone on te same vocal usage.

Preliterate tribes are always at risk of losing the dialect absent some library of poems, myths, prayers with which everyone stays practiced on.  Speaking the same language to a god from generation to generation likely worked well.
