The mayor of Anchorage is the direct government agent for half of Alaska, the state with about a half million people. His main concern as mayor is getting cash from the federal government, for survival.
The mayor needs to understand that heorshe can have the cash, up to 2 billion a year for the state, cold hard cash. But the mayor needs to do one thing; recruit a great senator who can manage the federal cash flow. If the mayor of Anchorage sends us boneheads, then we are all frigged, but Alaska will frig first.
