Learning spanish helps one to spell english

Because learning Spanish as a second language is like learning the etymology of English. You ge a good picture of all the stem words, and how they arrived from one source over two paths.  So, spelling is always a variation on the base stem word and standard prefix and suffix. I know precious and price are the same stem via different paths because Spanish is an intermediate. I now their etymology path longer up the etymology tree, mean less groupings i have sort for a spell.  It is like discovering and using an extra layer of grammar to reduce the number of stems.
