A bit disorted

The map shows the rate of initial spread, mostly. In detail the large metropolitan areas have the highest numbers and spread rate. So NewYork, in this map, will be darker exponentially, meaning thee density has a doubling effect on rate. hey have economies of scale requiring mass gatherings.

The rural states might not get much darker when the average town is a single story population of 60,000.

So, these charts by state are a distortion, charts by density are better. We need the data broken into the 200 densest metropolitan districts.
