My first post on the subject said:  Sudden disasters befall large corporations.
There is a strategy, some companies do it well, some don't. 



The first part, deal with victims. The second part is the public review of companies practices.  Simple, do not weasel, accept the necessary pain early before paying excess transaction costs.

My technical advice stands, communicate, communicate, communicate. A simple, triple redundant optical (and copper), lightweight com link across all modules with very low probability of transmission error. Every separated software module has access to the latest, complete parameter space.
