The Constitution requires trial vote before the election?

Impeachment standoff deepens, testing McConnell and Pelosi

Pelosi has done her job, she can relax.  The Senate needs a vote to acquit by election time I would suggest.  The Constitution requires a senate vote to decide if Trump is dismissed.

But the House needs to sue the Senate.\ What will Roberts do if the Senate vote is after the election and Trump wins and the House sues? Roberts may conclude that the lack of a senate vote implies a pocket acquital. I dunno, this is unchartered territory and we have a 'Make shit up' set of judges.
