DOJ emails show Nellie Ohr on May 30, 2016, directly alerted her husband and two DOJ prosecutors specializing in international crimes to the discovery of the “black ledger” documents that led to Manafort’s prosecution.

on a case that was closed, prior. Now, at this point, the FBI had already discovered the hacks, shut them down. The hackers get no more emails. The FBI had not yet heard back from Downer about the word emails. Two weeks later Assange announces he has them. The FBI and Hillary knew, Crowd Strike had to warn Hillary. Hillary and the FBI almost certainly guessed emails.
This is three weeks after the second hack discovered, right after the mysterious russian lady appears. Does it matter who sent the Russian lady? No, the jig was up, emails was on everyone's mind, it would be indistinguishable what source the word 'emails' came from. It was going to appear within a week anyway, and likely had been floating around before. The entire episode is about one mysterious appearance of a Russian lady, and gossip about email hacks.
And, at the time, even a Putin niece, hanging around the diplomat bars, would not be immune to gossiping about political dirt. Even, likely, Putin fishing a bit since the gig was up, sent her along. It was all a big 'So what'?, collusion was practically public everywhere anyway, and not necessarily illegal.
What about the long term Manchurian candidate thing?
Trump was, still is, a hotel salesman. They don't manchurian for anyone, they are bribed by buying hotel rooms today. That was in fact one of the exonerating points, Trump was ready to be bought for a hotel, still is. Putin never needed emails.
