The absurdity of the Steele dossier was that Trump was still trying to build a hotel in Moscow, up to the day of the election. Putin had all the leverage he needed, prior to the election, and Trump may have made the trade he didn't expect to be elected.
The hotel deal never happened. Trump had won and given up. He decided to build it via a foreign policy grant, I am sure, but that was not the point at the time. All of this plain and obvious. The Muller investigation was never about Trump, he was cleared early on. It was Muller proving to shell shocked Hillary that there was nothing new, same old dirty tricks.
