How many extinction events have we survived?

If we was born here, what is the frequency of extinction events from the start to now, tell many odds f survival all these 3 billion years.

My silly volcano theory turned out to be one of four very different things that volcanoes can do. Geologists can track connections between quite a few climate events and crust events. More connected than even I thought. One type of evidence is uplifting crust that carbonates and clears the atmospheric  CO2. Then the one that blacken the sky for years. Then some that blast co2. It all= depends on what, where, how powerful, what time frame.  We have seen large pacific volcanoes which, if part of the Cascades, would reduce a major city.

The geology events more probable then asteroid events. Easily seen in ones lifetime.  I am not sure how accurately we know probability distributions over geological time.
