An early option for Kamala and the teachers

Push the issue onto the opposing candidates.  Force Liz into a do or die early on the teacher bailout and get an early vote, before the election.Getting an early federal bailout for the teachers is a grand gift to the teachers, they can ditch the elections. The worst outcome is having the teachers dragged into a two year multi-pronged midnight battle on 'share'. If the teachers do not win soon, then state takeovers start.

It splits the union only in that much of her campaign force now works in DC on an early vote.  If an early teacher bailout fails, then it is full steam ahead on the primary campaign.  If the teacher bailout is on the next budget, teacher unions  will love Kamala forever, an interesting choice.  A teachers bailout has broad appeal because the teacher issue is quite uniformly dense.

Consider the worse option. The teachers do not get an early vote and Kamala is locked out of the nomination. Then California teachers have a long prop 13 battle. That means teachers have split their resources for the national campaign, and prop 13 gets injected into the campaign, all bad news for Dems.
