We are all interested, I have the most optimum case.
I have three city districts, including mine, which have high proportions of pre-industrial sidewalk pedestrians. I have a state gas tax that is being reimbursed back to the municipalities.
My three city council people are claiming that sidewalk users have first right to the gas tax, they definitely suffer one or two weeks of extra hot days, provably connected to CO2 levels. The perfect case, and the gas tax distribution here is stalled, this is a valid claim; the perfect global warming, public nuisance claim.
Most of these folks are lifelong walkers, they should get the payments directly, bypassing government. This is a direct, class action public nuisance claim, come on all you environmental lawyers, have a go. Tort meets global warming, a clearly objective case, here in Fresno Ca. The Scopes trial of the century, let's melt a bit of ice on this one.
